Where to start
New to the whistle? Open the finger chart next to the tuner and walk up the D scale one note at a time. If a note reads flat on every hole, push the head in a few millimetres; if everything is sharp, pull it out. Warm the whistle for a minute first, because a cold whistle plays flat and drifts up as it warms.
Once the scale sits in tune, pick a tune from the easy tabs and play it along with the metronome at a tempo you can manage without stopping. Speed comes from clean repetition, not from starting fast.
