The key signature is A Major (which normally has three sharps: F#, C#, G#). However, the melody completely avoids the G note! This means you can play it perfectly on a standard D tin whistle without having to worry about half-holing a G#. Note Guide: I've used standard octave numbers so you know exactly which register to play. 4 is the lower octave (e.g., A4 is the A in the second space from the bottom), and 5 is the higher octave (e.g., D5 is the D on the fourth line). Part A Pickup Notes: E4, F#4 Measure 1: A4, C#5, B4, A4, F#4, A4, F#4, E4 Measure 2: F#4, A4, B4, C#5, E5, F#5, E5, C#5 Measure 3: D5, E5, F#5, D5, C#5, D5, E5, C#5 Measure 4: B4, D5, C#5, B4, A4, B4, A4, F#4 1st Ending: A4 (half note), then play the pickup notes E4, F#4 to repeat Part A. 2nd Ending: A4 (dotted half note), then play C#5 (quarter note) to lead into Part B. Part B (Starts with the C#5 pickup from the 2nd ending above) Measure 1: A4, C#5, B4, A4, F#4, A4, F#4, E4 Measure 2: F#4, A4, B4, C#5, E5, F#5, E5, C#5 Measure 3: D5, E5, F#5, D5, C#5, D5, E5, C#5 Measure 4: B4, D5, C#5, B4, A4, B4, A4, F#4 1st Ending: A4 (half note), then play A4, C#5 (eighth notes) to repeat Part B. 2nd Ending: A4 (dotted half note). (The sheet says "D.C. Al Coda" here, which means you jump back to the very beginning of Part A, play until the "To Coda" mark at the end of Measure 8, and then skip down to the Coda). Coda Measure 9: F#4, A4, B4, C#5, E5, F#5, E5, C#5 Measure 10: B4, D5, C#5, B4, A4, B4, A4, F#4 Measure 11: A4 (hold this note to finish)
